I am on a low carb diet and things have been going okay. I feel as though I hit a little plateau.

I get hungry at night due to the lack of food I eat in the day, so just wondering if I will gain weight by eating a salad at night.

The salad is lettuce, tomatoes, table spoon of cheese, tea spoon of creaser dressing, lemon juice, and 1 table spoon of croûtons.

Well it depends on how much calories the salad contains in all & how much you have eaten during the day - doesn't sound bad to me though.

Eating right before bedtime makes you prone to acid reflux problem if you do not have it already. So watch out especially with the lemon juice.

You shouldn't be eating anything 2 hours before going to bed.. and yes you can gain weight by laying down after eating.. There is nothing wrong with eating salad several times a day..I love salads...=)

Sure you can if what you have just said constitutes your salad . Yet, sometimes too much of vita C before bed may not suit the system....Just remember never to eat a mixed salad - that is vegetables from different groups; definitely should not mix fruits into it and noway should meat be a part of it

I think your salad sounds like a great idea!!
You can't put on weight with it.
But I would personally skip the lemon juice and the ceasar dressing and use olive oil and balsamico.
If you were wanting a bit of variety to your nightime salad/snack, I'd suggest tuna as an ingredient.
Good Luck with the diet :)

So long as it's a small salad (and it sounds like it is), you shouldn't notice any weight gain.

But might it not be better to eat more food during the day so you're not hungry at night? Snacking on veggies during the day might help.

That's a heck of a lot healthier than what most people (at least in the US) eat before sleeping...

Generally, food consumed before sleep is turned to fat... so something very low carb, such as a salad is pretty brilliant... never thought of that myself.

I'm inclined to try it myself.
