I am on a low carb diet and things have been going okay. I feel as though I hit a little plateau.

I get hungry at night due to the lack of food I eat in the day, so just wondering if I will gain weight by eating a salad at night.

The salad is lettuce, tomatoes, table spoon of cheese, tea spoon of creaser dressing, lemon juice, and 1 table spoon of croûtons.

Definitely NO, even with that dressing you won't gain weight.

I agree with much of what everyone has said. However I have been told that if you don't eat after 6pm at night....weightloss is accelerated. Whatever you eat at night may be stored by your body as it doesn't need it for energy since you are going to sleep soon after. But if you must eat...a salad without cheese and without croutons...would be good. An apple or a glass of low fat calcium fortified milk would be okay. As long as you have a balanced diet, heaps of fruit and vege, protein, some dairy products, and a small amount of carbs, (lots of carbs without sufficient exercise to burn them off equals fat storage.)Also you can eat as much watermellon as you want at any time of the day cos its tasty, has good fibre and is mostly fresh flavoured water. All the best. Eat healthy fresh food- and you'll be healthy!

It isn't a good idea to eat right before bed. Allow your body time (at least two hours) to digest whatever is eaten. Sounds like you're eating habits are healthy. I presume you're trying to lose weight? Don't starve and then just eat at night. It will mess up your metabolism. Continue to eat healthy meals such as salads, veggies and fruits. Don't deprive yourself of needed protein. Be sure to include maybe a hard boiled egg in your salad or eat it as a snack. Drink lots of water and get exercise.

Ok, maybe skip the cheese if you can help it. I think the croutons should be ok, but it would be better to do without them. But you can eat salad to your heart's content. Trust me!! Weight Watcher's say you can have unlimited portion of vegies. It's very good for you.

It matters how many calories you are consuming each day. If the calories are comming from lean protiens and good carbs, you shouldnt have a problem with weight gain.

I suggest that you do not eat before bed. no matter what you eat it can gain weight. The best time to eat is 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.

When boredom, depression, or maybe stress causes cravings, find a nonfood way to meet up with them such as going for a walk, calling a friend, choosing a bath, reading a book, or perhaps doing some yoga.
