I suffer from Garcia taste aversion and I find myself unable to eat most foods. I just want to know if there is someting I can do to insure that the food goes down easier. That I taste it less.
I am trying to resume a more normal life.
I am also not looking for answers that include mental discipline.
I've got plenty of people advising me on such treatments.

I'm not familiar with the syndrome, but it might help to not breathe through your nose while eating. It also might help to mix it with something that tastes good to you.

I`m sorry I can`t help u, I can only sympathize with ur plight. After a bout with chemo, my taste buds were so screwed up, nothing tasted as it should. The only 2 things i could eat that were half way decent was, asparagus and sweet corn, everything else was off kilter. Thankfully, after 3 months I was ok. Is there no way to treat ur affliction, is there a beverage that tastes right to u, if so perhaps u could swallow a mouthful of food with a drink of some sort that is near normal. I`m so sorry and hope u recover soon.

I agree that you should try not to breathe or sniff when you put the food into your mouth. As we get taste of the food 80% from the smell, only the remaining from the real taste from the tongue. Also to make sure the food is at a better appearance and right temperature. Just my little suggestions. Have a great meal!

I don't have any clue as to your disease but I'm sorry.
I find not breathing in the smell of what you have to eat helps a lot.
What also helps but isn't healthy is swallowing the food as fast as possible. Less contact with the toungue, less tasting of food.
You can also have a drink that you like and take a swallow of the drink after the food, like swallowing medicine.

Hope it helps.

I've heard an old trick is to hold your nose. Maybe it's an old wives tale, but it helped icky medicine go down when I was a kid.

Just smoke some marijuana before you eat. Believe me everything will be tasteful :)
