I always get error message from the software that I'm using to write data into a DVD, Nero that is.
The message will show itself during the writting proccess and the operation will abort, after that my DVD will be corrupted.
Why is that so?

Make sure you've got the drive speed in Nero set to what your drive can do or the speed of your dvd-r's, whichever is lower.

If you're trying to make a copy of a commercial dvd, like a movie you've rented, you're getting the error message because it's copy protected. You can download a program to run in the background to get around that...dvd43 is one.
