Its TMJ -temporal mandibular joint disorder. Last time I checked the cure is pretty brutal--if it isn't causing too much suffering I think you'll want to live with it.

Are you in your teens/ early 20's? could be your wisdom teeth causing the problem.
I used to have really bad jaw joints that made a 'crack' noise every time i ate even a banana etc. This went on for years through my teens & i was worried my jaw bones would wear down so eventually went to the Dr who said to see a dentist for an x-ray, who then told me to see my Dr!! He said he'd do an x-ray to check for infection anyway....turned out at the age of 17 i had all my wisdom teeth trying to come through, there wasnt room & they had been pushing on & under my back teeth making everything at the back of my jaw inflamed. The cartilidge between the joints had been slipping in & out making the 'crack' noise (think it sounds bad as its near you ears), I had an emergency op to remove my wisdom teeth a month later & once I fully recovered my jaw problem was cured.

I have the same thing... i did a lot of research and only found sites about TMJ... dunno, but my jaw started clicking from this day when i was about 10 yrs old. It scared the crap outta me but i got used to it. Now my jaw has gone through another change where it doesnt exactly click, but it is locked up one one side. I should see a doctor and so should u. Some say it's really bad, others don't think it's bad at all!

I have the same problem - after consulting a dentist I was told that it was due to years of clenching my jaw and grinding my teeth during sleep. I have been offered a mouth guard to wear at night which will prevent grinding. A slight sedative at night may help but I ha vent tried this!! I would speak to your dentist xx

Might be an airlock in the joint.
