The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Solomon was wise, but still human nonetheless.

Solomon is wise based on his knowledge because he can tell the names of the plants, he can make a good decisions to his kingdom but his knowledge was come from God because the almighty has prove that Solomon is sincere to his kingdom until solomon commit a sin that is worshiping other gods which is not the true God. so but to show the Love of the true God he gave solomon another chance and he warned solomon if he will not stop worshiping the gods he will be punished... so Solomon knows that he will get punished if he disobeyed God's word. and disobeying God's words are lessen a chance to us to Enter in Heaven. Adultery is a sin as far as God's word is concern.

Nobody should commit adultery, unless you want to live in a rathole and lose your house. I understand it, but wouldn't do it. Well, could I cheat? I am far too loyal, but I am quite particular, though I am not the kind who gets upset about a bottle of lotion left on the counter or a towel folded the wrong way, glasses on the counter, etc.

He did what he did; it wasn't right. I do not know if he was sorry. I feel Moses and Abraham are better examples. David is complicated but he meant to be that way. We must not hold him up as holy, but must know his story well. Sure, Job was holy, but he was boring.

Read on, the Bible says that no saint has ever lived a life without sin. See, God has given us free will, right from the beginning when He created us. It is up to us to choose, and be responsible for it.

And the Bible didnt say he commited adultery, it says he played the harlot with the womens' idols and gods.

Solomon didn't commit adultry. He didn't fool with another man's wife. David did.

I don't know how wise he was but they had different rules then. It's no good trying to apply today's ideas of morality to Solomon. In those days it was good to be the king.

Even wise people make mistakes. The key is to realize your error and ask forgiveness.
