Actually this happens worldwide

The Qur'an is written in Arabic so everyone must learn to read because that is the given language of the book

Now as far as the understanding some sheikhs actually say the meaning of the text but others help their reading skills improve

After they finish the Qur'an most people I know of actually read again and again and actually go for the Holy Qur'an which is the Arabic-English book

In Afghanistan majority of the people who go to Islamic studies learn how to speak Arabic now

So most Muslims if not learnt first the language do the basic reading and understanding later

The main idea of learning is to recite certain Surahs out the Qur'an during Saleh which is prayer which they actually learn at the beginning and understand the idea or meaning

It's an responsibility to no less than be taught the Arabic wanted for the every day prayers and a few elementary matters. The Holy Qur'an used to be discovered in Arabic, and the that means of the Qur'an are not able to be flawlessly translated to another language. It's essential to no less than realize what the Arabic method that's requried for the prayers. I'm Arab and I can let you know that I realize plenty of non-Arabs who realize Arabic greater than such a lot Arabs do, so it is not unimaginable to be taught Arabic. Learning any language, from Swahili to German, simply calls for train and determination. OK, and an extra factor I desire to mention: while you're making the formal every day five prayers then the ones are in Arabic, but when you're praying to God and soliciting for anything then you'll use any language. And Allah (subhaanahu wa ta aala) is aware of nice. May Allah make it handy on you to be taught Arabic. incidentally, please see the hyperlink beneath

Indonesia is a moderate to conservative Muslim majority country with real potential. The people are beautiful and really quite tolerant. That is an impressive culture with a better record on human rights. The issue is not Islam or culture but religious fundamentalism, very specific economic and social conditions, and globalization. I do not understand why we do not pay attention to the needs and interests of Indonesians. I would go as far as saying that we need to help them, along with Turkey, Egypt and Morocco, so that we can stabilize the region. A U.N. intervention into East Timor would help and then talks about power-sharing, peace, aid and eventual independence is needed.

Quran was revealed in Arabic but Islam is spread and is still spreading beyond the lands of Arabs. The non-Arab Muslim memorize part of the Quran in Arabic for recitation in the five daily prayer but also try to learn as much as possible with translation. It is flash process. For understanding they can read authenticated translations such as (for English readers) by Abdullah Yusuf Ali and Marmaduke Pickthall. Of course Indonesians have translations in their languages.

I don't know about Muslims but the Catholic Mass was in Latin when I was a kid. People didn't understand all the words but as it turns out that wasn't such a bad thing. The sense of mystery was actually more important. When the Catholics switched to local languages much of the power and mystery was lost. The Catholic church has been going downhill ever since.

Yes, it is.

Most muslims are illiterate. They are ENCOURAGED to be illiterate because their founder muhammad was ILLITERATE.

With such a situation, you will always see the illiterate muslims rote learning from some bogus imam who does not reveal to them the truth about the evil in Q'uran.

The islamic religion is nothing but a tool used by the Arabs to control the minds of weak willed individuals. Telling them to remain ignorant, uneducated, while they feed them with trash.

That's also why many muslims here look surprised when you quote them texts revealing the shameful acts of muhammad. Some reject you totally without even checking their facts. It is unacceptable to them that the religion can be so heinously shameful after being taught so many years that it is their 'perfect' religion.

Its really sad. But its true. The only way to stop is is to establish religious freedom, then pump in secular knowledge. Then remove the syariah courts and next slowly remove the infectious mosques.

That's about the ONLY way to save these souls.

Well yes somewhere it happens but not everywhere, kids are taught Quran in arabic to make them learn how to read arabic as arabic is not the native in many countires, once they are able to read arabic then they are taught the meanings....but the basic meanings of Salah and other prayers which is daily routine, are taught them in the begining so that they can offer it with full understanding.

Marshal is this guy an idiot or what? If you manage to read the Quran you are not illeterate, yes the Prophet (pbuh) was illeterate but the Prophet (pbuh) said:

Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise

However there are still many that go on to learn the meaning of the Quran these people are known as Alims.
