Look in the windows of travel agencies, cigar stores, etc. Many of them sell tickets for the buses going to Atlantic City. They make more stops than the Greyhound Bus (which takes about
2 3/4 hours- that bus is nonstop from Port Authority to AC), but you usually get more money back than Greyhound and they show a movie. An advantage to taking the Greyhound bus, is you don't have to return on the same bus - the ticket is good for 48 (?) hours. If you pick up the bus on the street, in front of a store that sells the tickets, you have to return on the same bus (usually gives you 6 to 8 hours in Atlantic City). Some of the non-Greyhound buses give you tickets for a meal. I don't know if this still holds, but the Academy Bus Line that leaves from Chinatown had the cheapest tickets and the biggest casino refund.

Good luck!

I'm not sure if the service still exists but Coach USA provided cheap buses directly to the casinos. The fare was about US$29.00 one way but the casino would reimburse you US15.00 cash.

Take the 'A' train to the George Washington Bridge bus terminal (175th Street). That terminal is the least crowded. The bus trip takes about 3 hours depending on when you go.

You may have to call Coach USA directly to see if the service is still available. Or call the NYC Port Authority and ask which bus carriers go to Atlantic City.

* This schedule stops at the Atlantic City bus terminal prior to the casino stop(s).

One way is $37. Call the Casino that you plan to go to and ask if they reimburse bus tickets. Some casinos give you a voucher worth the amount that you spent on the bus ticket.
