The friend on the same bed as you is a desirable opposite sex. Do you think it is possible to just engage in friendly chat and nothing else the whole night?

Yup. Been there and done that. We were on our way to a conference. We got a late start and the rain was making us hydroplane... and the highway was so dark, we could hardly see the road. We decided it would be safest to stop at a motel and leave again in the early a.m. I had money for a room and figured he did, too, so when registering, I started to say I needed a room for me... but the guy I was with indicated that we could share a room and save money... so, happy, go lucky college kid that I was, I agreed.

There was just one bed. And cable TV!! I laid down the rules, and he agreed. We were like two young kids. We took turns in the restroom to get our jammies on. Then enjoyed CABLE TV (it was early 80's) for a while. Then, I laid pillows between us and scooted way over to edge of my side of bed, and he to his.

In the morning, we took turns in restroom again to shower and dress.

He was extremely desirable, because he was such a GENTLEMAN about the whole thing. He and I were good friends then, and we have remained good friends over the years, although he lives in another state.

He was and is a desirable and very honorable man.
**EDIT.. oh, and he and I never ever had sex with each other. Just a great friendship.

Why not? The main issue is, do you have the respect for one another? If you do, then it doesn't matter how attractive the person you are with, you just wouldn't even think of it! I have done that successfully countless of times, mostly with female colleagues, and most of the time, we not only talked, but drinking at the same time!

of course!! it would be totally simple for me to engage in friendly chat and nothing else. then if those two engaging friends were supposed to sleep in that same bed for the night too, i'ld sleep in that bed and not have anything too! tempting, but i wouldn't allow it! :)

Yes, it's entirely possible. Just because someone of the opposite sex is desirable, doesn't mean you'll automatically sleep with them.

yes thats possible but takes a lot of will power if its on each another's mind. its possible. unless there's a lot of trust and respect and again . . . yes . . . its possible.

friendship between the opposite sex is not always lustful and full of sexual activities!
