You cannot do a service transfer, you would have to join the marines as a prior service enlistee. Which means in almost all cases going thru marine boot camp. Most prior service from other branchs will be enlisted as an E-3. Prior service recruits take a re-enlistment slot, so most services only take prior service for critical needs. Best answer is to go talk to the local marine recruiter and see what the marines shortages are right now and if you qualify.

First off i would like to say "Semper Fi"!!
As for an answer to your question, you cannot currently transfer from the Army to any other branch of the service. But after your term is up, I would say go to a Marine Recruiter and join back up! I'm not going to lie to you the Corps is a lot tougher on you than the Army ever will be, because they are the Elite. However, once you make it in, you earn a lot of respect from other servicemen and women.

Right now the only service transfers are into the Army not out. If you want to join the marines you are going to have to get out and go see a Marine Recruiter. One thing to think about is being a prior service guy trying to get back in limits your options as far as jobs and bonuses. But, if thats what you want to do, Good luck to ya Man.

As far as I know, you have to fulfill your obligation to the Army first.
