I was reading msn health
tips, and there was an article on Body mass index, which described
what to do if your BMI is this or that, and at the end proclaimed:
"And if your BMI is less then 25, start dieting and exercising for
you, slim folks, have fat too." Mine is 15.7 and I must start dieting?
Well, what is enough, then? When just live without any dieting, on
what BMI?

What is obesity?

To most people, the term "obesity" means to be very overweight. Health professionals define "overweight" as an excess amount of body weight that includes muscle, bone, fat, and water. "Obesity" specifically refers to an excess amount of body fat. Some people, such as bodybuilders or other athletes with a lot of muscle, can be overweight without being obese.
---BMI is the medical standard to measure overweight and obesity. Read this website: http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/weight/weight_obesity-introduction.htm

As for the pressure to be slim and trim, it is an industry ! a Multi Billion industry. You need consumers for all the products that abound. What drives consumption? Yes you got it. Fear.
Fear of being fat. So you have to keep on pushing that fat fear into people, that is if you were a fat reducing provider.

As they all say " Theres nothing personal, its just business."

BMIs are so rediculous. Don't listen to all that crap .The second you start worrying about your BMI you start the whole I'm-too-fat cycle. If you eat healtily, exercise, and your doctor says you are in good shape, then you are fine. Things like MSN are only interested in money. They publish stuff like that because they know people are obsessed with thier weights and will spend more time on thier crappy web site reading stupid articles like that. Talk to your doctor if you have concerns. Don't let some major media corporation tell you you're fat.

I think it meant MORE than 25. Even if you are slender with a low BMI, it is important to build muscle mass through exercise.

According to BMI, Tom Cruise is obese.

I'm a heavy dude and besides eating junk food from time to time I'm fairly healthy.
