Well i usually tip 20% i live in san dawg. but if you get something comp. you should tip the amount that you didn't pay plus 20% like if the kitchen f-ed up and your dinner came b 4 your ap and the server broght the ap any way & didn't charge you or if you have a coupon and it was 50% off you tip 20% plus what ever your discount was so 70% or the total of the free meal. They have to make a living too

15% is the absolute lowest you should ever tip for any type of service such as beauty and or dining. if you get extra good service 20% is a great tip. if you get exceptional service 25% is going to make the person who performs the service remember you always, which in turn could lead to exceptional service every time and in some cases you may receive special discounts and other perks for being a preferred customer and a damn good tipper. :)

I think it is the same everywhere in the country, it is just up to you as to how much you personally want to tip. Typically it is 15%. I usually tip 20%.
An easy way to do percentages though...I don't know how different it is from doubling the tip.
Say your bill at a restaurant is $20.00. Move your decimel to the left one place to get 10%. In this case 10% of 20.00 is $2.00.
Double that number and that will give you 20%, in this case 20% would be $4.00.
If you only want to give 15%:
10% of $20.00 = $2.00
10% again of $20.00 = 2.00
2.00/2 to give you half of 10% is $1.00
So, $2.00 + $1.00 = $3.00
20% tip = $4.00
15% tip would = $3.00
hope this did not confuse you too awful bad

Being a former waitress, I have seen anything from doubling the tax to 20%.
It is really up to you. 15% is the standard.
Depending on where you are, these people are working for their tips and not their crumby hourly wage so we always take care of them.

Same as in most places (I think): 15% - more (or less) depending on the level/quality of service...
(N.b.: I recall that TIPS was an acronym that stood for To Insure Proper Service, or To Insure Prompt Service...)

You can tip 15%. Look at the tax amount and double it for tips.

That is highly dependant on the type of service we get.....if the service sucks, so does the tip..........and TIPS is really an acronym for
To Insure Prompt Service..............so why leave 15% if I get crappy service??? Paying someone extra for lousy service doesn't MAKE ANY SENSE........And waiting tables can be a pain, but NO ONE HELD A GUN TO THEIR HEAD AND MADE THEM BECOME A SERVER.......Get it????
