The real miracle is that God knowing the future, had a plan of salvation, no matter what the devil does, God is one step ahead of him.Obviously Satan and one third of heavens angels that followed after him, had the choice to leave their first estate according to Jude. Satan is in eternal check mate if you will. We only know that God did all things according the counsel of HIS will, for HIS good pleasure, according to HIS perfect plan. As you can see man is no where in that equasion. Many people think they are in their fallen reasoning able to evaluate and give notes on God's performance. This is the spirit of error. God is not a respector of persons, and is not a man that he should explain himself to appease our curiosity. God in fact said that his ways are past finding out, and his ways our higher than our ways. And also we cannot know his secret counsel. We do know what he has revealed to us in his Word. We know he knew Lucifer would turn on him. We know he knows all things, and that no matter what apparent rampage the devil appears to be on. The Lord is and always has been in sovereign command of all things. Praise ye the Lord!

Angels (including the ex-angels like the devil), were made to SERVE in the kingdom.
They are subservient to God. They do not have free will by virtue of their passive role.
Satan wanted something more. The free-will-of-man to do as he wishes. But Satan cannot do so because doing so means automatically that he will have sinned. God's will should and always rules supreme in the Kingdom of God.
Comparing against man, man cannot sin because man did not know what is sin. So, man is free to do whatever he wants and YET not be liable for sin.
In order to put man into the same liable for sin position, Satan had to entice man to become as discernible as him with regards to sin.
Hope that answers your question.

we werent here yet.. and God gave His angels the same free will He gave us... did God know Lucifer would become Satan .. (the adversary) ..probably... consider maybe that is why when God created us... He made us mortal ..out of the dust of the earth so that if we rebelled (which we did) we could be destroyed
Satan cannot change ..and he cannot die ... he can only be contained ... and he will always be twisted... we will have what he once had ..thats why he hates us so much--- i dont think kicks had much to do with it....

I don't think Genesis mentions free will although it's implied. Certainly the creator of human nature would have known that Adam & Eve would snitch the forbidden fruit. If Genesis is true then Adam & Eve were set up for the fall.

like man like god :) they both love challenges. afterall thats where all the adventure/ thrill lies. hence the idea was to create an adversary which was 'strong' but not 'as strong'. its a win-win for him. you get to fight without losing.

So many times religion stumbles over it's own beliefs. If God can't control Lucifer then he's not almighty.

Your belief is wrong.
Angels have free will too, including Lucifer.
