The best option is to get to West 181st Street, anywhere between Broadway and Amsterdam Aves, take the Bx13 which runs directly to Yankee Stadium.

Other options have some drawbacks. You can take the 1 train to 157th Street and use the Bx6 towards Yankee Stadium, or the B (weekdays)/C train to 135th street and take the Bx33 over to the heart of the South Bronx/East 138th Street. However the frequency of the Bx33 is poor. The Bx19 along 145th Street to the Bronx sounds good, but because of the 145th Street Bridge detour, it goes a roundabout route over the Madison Ave bridge.

Another option in Inwood is the take the Bx12 over to Jerome Ave for the Bx32 towards Morris Ave, Grand Concourse for the Bx1/2 (note they travel on seperate routes between 165th and 138th Streets), or Webster Ave for the Bx41 towards The Hub (East 149th st shopping area).

Allow yourself a good hour.
