Belief in creation science seems to be largely a U.S. phenomenon. A British survey of 103 Roman Catholic priests, Anglican bishops and Protestant ministers/pastors showed that:

97% do not believe the world was created in six days.
80% do not believe in the existence of Adam and Eve.

I believe that most student's in the US who become educated and that have studied science as I did, find that there are many unexplained physical aspects of life and existence. It is hard to prove scientifically that life is not a creation and is a result of random chaotic evolution. My answer is that we are more educated and more spiritual which is why we are the greatest nation on the planet today. I am basing my knowledge as an agnostic, but since there is no proof, what explains us? I don't believe in false prophets who use people's insecurity to control people through their religious agendas. Most religions in one way or another are based upon control of masses and ultimately profits for those who profess it.

England is in a post-christian stage. I am not surprised. Up until 400 yrs ago or less almost everyone was a creationist (with different version of what happened). Now people just have an excuse not to believe in creation so that they will not be judged by their creator. It doesn't make their story true just because they think they can come up with a non-godly story.

*****NO, america is going down the drain because she has fallen for the LIE of evolution! If she lived by the teachings of Christ, she would be a great nation. It was her willingness to compromise with sin that is leading her into so many troubles. NOw one is not only to compromise, one is also to approve it!

What came first? The chicken or the egg? Evolution and creationism go hand-in-hand if you have a well-balance of education and religion. There is plenty of room in the Bible for evolution. Stop your lack of insight and do some research yourselves. But, then again, you probably wouldn't take time to back up with valid facts for your worthless opinions anyway.

Americans most definitely won't like my answer, but here it is: This phenomenon stems from the fact that most of the American populace is held in thrall and brainwashed by the Religious Right and Fundamentalist cults.
This will yet be the downfall of American "culture" and society.
(I can hardly wait!)
...and I know very well that it will rain "thumbs down" points galore, but who cares?
