French Toast filled with Strawberry Cream Cheese
Recipe courtesy Sandra Lee
Show: Semi-Homemade Cooking with Sandra Lee
Episode: Breakfast Breaks
Filling:
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
1 tablespoon orange zest

French Toast:
4 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons orange liqueur (recommended: Grand Marnier)
8 slices Texas Toast style bread, challah, or other thick-sliced bread
Butter

In a small mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese, strawberry preserves, and orange zest until smooth. Set aside.

In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and orange liqueur. Pour into a shallow bowl, such as a pie plate. Set aside.

With a pairing knife, slice a pocket into the side of the bread. Do not cut all of the way through the bread. Fill bread slices with a heaping spoonful of cream cheese mixture.

In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Dip the filled bread in the egg mixture and place in the skillet to brown on both sides, about 1 to 2 minutes per side. Repeat with remaining slices.

Serve hot with additional Strawberry Cream Cheese on the side.

Cheese Ball.
3 packages philadelphia cream cheese
1 large packet packaged beef
3-5 small green onions (depending on taste)
Season All
Accent Spice

Soften the cream cheese. Cut up the package beef and onions. To the soften cream cheese add season all and accent to taste (no exact measurement here!) Add in the beef and onions, stir all together and form into a ball and place in the fridge until firm. Serve with tollhouse crackers (best with this recipe!)

Our family loves Cream Cheese Sandwiches!

In mixing bowl mix block of Philly Cream cheese (room temp), A couple of Tbsps Minced Onion or chopped, a couple Tbsp milk, and a dash or two of lemon juice. I throw in to taste sometimes adding a tiny bit of garlic. Mix until creamy. spread thinly on two slices of bread. Add Carl buddig corned beef slices 2 or 3 and make a sandwich! Trim off edges for party sandwiches and cut into triangles. These are always a hit!!

My godmother makes taco dip with cream cheese.

She mixes a brick of cream cheese with 1 package of taco seasoning, then she spreads it on a big dish. Then she layers seasoned taco meat, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, etc on top. Serve with tortilla chips. It's really good :)
