Guys like it. Because then they feel that the girl likes them. They don't have to do any guessing.

For me, it depends on the type of dance. I do quite a bit of swing dancing where the atmosphere is a little more traditional where the guy typically asks the girl, and the girl waits to be asked. That being said, after you have danced with the girl a couple of times - it basically becomes a two way street.
I guess I would say if it is a partner dance, let the guy ask you...at least for the first time.
