early TV shows depicted blondes as giddy idiots.
women who are referred to as trailer trash, sometimes commonly look like the girls from 80s tv shows
as for myself, i've never cared much, but i'll admit that i do prefer brunettes. my best friend is a blonde though, and she's nothing near idiocy

I know what you mean. I use to lighten my hair up so that it was very blonde. I personally loved the color and I am not dumb or trailer trash or anything like that. I noticed that I did get treated very poorly as a blonde by allot pf people. Girls would hate on me,talk behind my back and say that I was a slut, they didn't know me at all,but they loved making things up. The guys would always think I was pretty, but they would try and treat me like if I was a bimbo. One guy said that I was hot and that I looked like a blow up doll. NOT cool! I have brunette hair now I don't get treated like that at all now.I'm still the same person I was. It's so dumb to judge people because of the color of their hair.

Hi
I think it is rude for people to look down on blondes. I suppose it started with a joke somewhere and this has been going around. Personally I know many blondes friends who are absolutely normal, not dumb at all.

People hate on blondes because blondes represent the status quo, which some find intimidating. Also, no one has to think hard to list some blonde gals who capitalize on thier blondeness in a way that emphasizes sexiness at the expense of other desireable traits (like depth of character).
It started in the early 1900s, with silent movies. Blondes were typecast as innocent, childlike damsels who happened to enshrine all-American values and of course the Aryan aesthetic. The innocent/childlike association probably comes from the fact that many brunettes (like myself) were once blondes in their childhood. Coincidentally, what children possess in innocence, they lack in intelligence.......hence the stereotype.
These days, people still value youth and innocence (particularly when it is served up all sexy and often at the expense of intellect...), but there is a percentage that resents this trend and so resents blondes.
'Course, to me the whole thing is stupid. Its just hair, people!

I think the problem is with the person. If you are confident in yourselve then it does not matter if your a natural blonde or bottle blonde, brunette or red head. Learn to laugh at the jokes because no one is out there making a joke just for you.

i dont even begin to think blondes are dumb. I think that blondes are the butt of jokes because most often or quite often a rich sugar daddy will get himself a blonde .
i think it also has to do with the fact blondes have got such a advantage that a joke here and there will not harm them.

I don't think blondes are dumb. Probably people like Paris Hilton, Britney Spears are making people think that all blondes are dumb, and most of them aren't dumb at all.

Bleached blondes people frown on (I do). I prefer natural haircolor, because when you think about it, we are born with a complimentary color right off the bat
But I have always prefered brunettes, tall, curvy, and mysterious.
So don't fret none, I am sure you are fine, and I would notice you in a crowded room.
