Make dahi aloo its delicious. Here's my recipe.

500gm aloo boiled and peeled
1 tbsp ginger-finely sliced
a pinch asafoetida
1 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp garam masala
2 tsp coriander powder
2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1/2 cup yogurt (curd)
3-4 green chillies
2 tbsp clarified butter
1 tbsp coriander leaves-chopped

Break the aloo , by holding each in the palm of your hand and closing the fist. Keep these unevenly broken potatoes aside until further use. Heat the ghee, add cumin and asafoetida. When the cumin splutters, add ginger and sauté till slightly fried.
Lower the flame, add yogurt 1 tbsp at a time, stirring vigorously until all of it is well blended.Add garam masala, coriander, salt, turmeric and chilli powder. Stir a few times until well mixed, add potatoes and green chillies, turn around over high heat, until they look slightly fried. Add about 2 cups water, bring the mixture to a boil, and then simmer uncovered for about 15 minutes. Serve aloo dahi wale hot, garnished with coriander leaves.

If you eat non veg dahi chicken with saffron also tastes delicious.
Why don't you give them chas or lassi instead.

Dahi rice is also very tasty.
2 cup(s) uncooked rice
1 cup(s) fresh yoghurt beaten well
1 cup(s) milk
2 tablespoon(s) butter (optional)
½ teaspoon(s) mustard seeds
½ teaspoon(s) each of split black gram and split bengal gram (optional)
2 green chilli(es) finely chopped
1" piece ginger grated
1 teaspoon(s) asafoetida powder
1 sprig curry leaves
2 tablespoon(s) chopped fresh coriander
1 medium onion finely chopped
2 tablespoon(s) oil
salt to taste

Cook the rice a little longer than usual for about 20 minute(s) or till it is of a soft consistency. When the rice is yet hot, mix in the butter (optional), yoghurt, milk and salt one by one. Adjust the consistency by adding or reducing the yoghurt / milk as desired.
Heat the oil on medium level in a pan till hot and splutter the mustard seeds. Add the split grams (optional), asafoetida, curry leaves, ginger, green chillies and fry for about two minutes or till the grams are are lightly browned and aromatic. Pour this tempering on the yoghurt rice and mix in the chopped onions and coriander leaves.
For a colorful yoghurt rice, mix in some grated carrot and peeled and finely chopped raw mango.

All the best.!

unless they cultivate a taste for curds when they are young --in fact very very very young it would be tough. you can beat the curds very well with some water . add a pinch of salt , hing, jeera pepper dhaniya powder, some lime and give this as buttermilk this is the least you can do if the kids are more than 8 years old. i am 50 years old and i cannot stand plain curds till date.i will just gulp it as buttermilk. but i like this masala buttermilk. you can add some ginger juice also---everything must be in the right proportion. ultimately trial and error will help you.

hi bina,
u already hav got lot many answers but u will hav to try hard. as alredy said you con give butter milk instead of curd, u can also make sweet pineapple raita.
if your kids dont like the taste u can make sprouted pulses ka raita, or the best is russian salad.
you can include curd in lunch/ dinner by adding it into vegetable gravy instead of cream or prepare kadhi aswell. use curd for marination.
the best recipe i can think of is preparing chat for your children. its simple and quick recipe.
take some waffer (salted / red chilli ones) add curd to it, mix some chiwda, dates and tamrind chutney to it. mix it well and serve by adding pomogranete or any other fruit pieces.

# if your children are having proper amount of milk daily and their daily diet is protien rich, its ok if they dont hav curd. provide them with nutrient dense food.
