Either film cameras or digital cameras can produce great images. Mostly it depends on the photographer.

Your question is sort of like asking what kind of piano or other instrument will produce such beautiful music. Some are better than others of course, but I can't play any of them. On the other hand a great pianist can produce beautiful sound from any old piano.

To give you some idea about cameras, though, almost all professionals use either Canon or Nikon. If you visit Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/) you can see photos by many hundreds of photographers, and most list which camera was used to take them.

To add to the excellent answers above, the lens has alot to do with the photo as well. You can have a $200 camera with a $1000 macro zoom lens for some of those!

My guess is a digital SLR. There is some digital noise is some of the darker shots which means its not film. The depth of field control suggests an SLR because it most other smaller digital cameras dont have very good aperture control.
