Solve a problem,Make a difference, save a life?

Question

Thats my new slogan. I want to help everyone that is less fortunate than me. I know that most pepole think "there are thousands of kids and pepole dying and going hungry, you can not save them all". I can not do it by myself, but if everyone pitched in, wheather its money, giving a innocent child somwhere to sleep, or giving the homless on the corner a dollar, that would make a huge difference. If we have more things for kids to do,force kids to be educated [which is almost impossible], and helping them make the right choices, there would be less gang violence. My question is, what do you do to help the pepole that are less fortunate than you? Im young [15] but I try to help as much as I can. If we don't work together, it is another life being lost.

You are very sweet dear, I lived in poverty all my life, I gave 1/2 of what I had to anyone in need sometimes I gave all that I had.Most
people do not care,You give Your dollar to the homeless,we can
never fix the problem,but if one hungry person eats,that is great.

That is wonderful and applaud you. This is what we all should be doing! You don't have to help someone half way around the world when there are many that are in need right out your front door.

This, however, I would caution against: "giving the homeless on the corner a dollar" Unless, you want your money to go to feed an addiction. Many "homeless" make more money begging in a day than most people make all week. That is a fact. The truly homeless people already know where the soup kitchen and other help is and they receive that help. Your money would be better spent giving to those organizations that help them and others in need.

I do like your thinking, though! We can all join in to help others and we all should.

thats a great thought kid :) and i applaud ur intentions whole heartedly.. the answer to ur question lies in the empathy that u already feel for the underprivileged.. its a great start and you are on the right path as long as u keep the sentiment glowing.. its that which will keep u ready to respond to someones distress, without being obssesively overwhelmed by the 'need' to do so at all times. i wish u all the very best in life.

i fight for abused and neglected children as best i can and with my mouth and words and have been since my granddaughter was beaten by her biological father when sh was 16 months old back in june. go to my blog and scroll down and read them.

i believe in the power of one...we all can contribute in our own way...i for one care for animals, and have adopted several stray dogs.....i also care for the environment....there are so many problems plaguing the world, we all can adopt our own cause and work for it..
