I got my first tattoo (peace sign) october 24, 05'. we had a misunderstanding and he filled in what supposed to be color with some black. I love my tattoo and couldn't have designed better myself. but just curious if its ever happened to somebody!

many tattoo artists change or add to what you ask for. if i had to guess... it sounds like some of the black is some shading to add depth to the tattoo but i haven't seen it so i really couldn't say for sure. i am friends with my tattoo artist so i just tell him what i want in the most general sense and i let him tattoo whatever he thinks would look best, so i have never really had any problems with that.

Shrink, no. Blur, sure. If you have got a relatively particular layout, the artist most often prefers going slightly better to preclude the tattoo from 'bleeding' in combination quicker than later. It's simply some thing that tattoos generally tend to do through the years. Lines fade and blur and will make an tricky layout appear like a blob through the years. If the artist you selected goes to make use of quite quality traces, then upping the tattoo just a bit bit will most often be just right for you. If you desired thicker traces, possibilities are, he'd present an excellent relatively better dimension than that to hold your tattoo for so long as feasible earlier than you want a contact up.

I only have the one tattoo, but the artist tried to convince me to get a more feminine one. I told him exactly what i wanted and made a copy of it for him and he did exactly what i asked him to do which was great. It would have been easy for him to mistake the meaning behind the tattoo and change it somehow but i made sure i was very clear about what I wanted. I even let him do some of it freehand which turned out heaps better than the original design. I think when getting a tattoo you should be very clear about what you want, and how you want it, that way you wont come away with something you didn't want.

A portion of my first tattoo was intended to look as if it went under the skin, and because my sister got a tattoo of stitches (as if her hand was stitched back on) from the same artist, i left that part of the tattoo up to him(he did a really, really nice job on hers). I also said at one point that i liked the contrast of having an aspect of gore in a fairly feminine tattoo. So he added blood drips, which at first i was NOT happy about, but now i don't mind so much.
