"need"???
Get a food diary, and write down what you eat. Add up the carbs and calories, and make sure you're doing as well as you think.
Second, try to lose inches instead of pounds. If you're doing exercises that build large dense muscles, you'll offset fat loss. Muscles are healthy, and much more dense, and you'll lose inches from your waist.

Please don't go on a fad diet. It could mess up your metabolism and often you may end up with vitamin deficiencies if you aren't super-careful. Here are some ideas that I have seen work for people- *Eat a small bowl of tomato soup w/out crackers about 10 minutes before each meal (even before salad) It is very nutritious and low fat and contains lots of vitamins. *Make a plate of healthy food like you normally would. Remove half of each item on your plate. Eat slowly, and enjoy each bite. Really taste your food. When you are finished, wait about 15-20 minutes, and if you are still hungry, eat half of the removed food.
*Don't deprive yourself of anything-just eat less of whatever it is.
*If you eat out of boredom, invest in a few good books, or start doing a crafty-type thing that will keep your hands and mind busy.
*Don't watch TV while you eat.
*If you are going out for dinner, eat an apple before you go.
I hope this helps Good Luck!

I know it sounds simple, but if you don't put anything in your mouth, you can not gain weight. Starve youself? No. But eating very little will do it.
Take one day out of the week and fast. Only drink water.
