I've seen a lot of Christians say on here that if something contradicts the Bible, then it's false, period. I've seen this applied to everything from other religions to evolution. I especially find it worriesome when it's applied to science, such as "I know evolution is false because the Bible says so" or "I know the entire earth was flooded because the Bible says so".

My question is, How do you KNOW that the Bible is completely 100% true and that everything that contradicts it is false?

Also, please state which version you are using. The KJV which references unicorns? The Catholic Bible with its extra books that the Protestant Bible leaves out? Or some other version? I'd like to know which one is the authoritative one.

Accepting things on faith, regardless of whether there is evidence that contradicts it is taught as a virtue from a very young age. It is well known that the early years of childhood really are the forming years and have a tremendous impact on the type of adult the child will become. Children growing up in circumstances like that find it hard to impossible to, as adults break out of the early indoctrination and seem unable to use their minds completely, always falling back on what they were taught from birth that if it is in a holy book, it must be true.

You know that song about the Chevy to the levee, but the levee was dry? One of the lines is "Because the Bible tells me so." Speaks for itself. I'm still trying to understand what happened in the last 2,000 years and how this carries on. The universe is a far, far more mystic place than what the Bible could ever hope to describe. There will be a shift in reason, and it may come in your lifetime. We live in interesting times, but maybe not the most interesting times. Nobody knows anything, and those that claim they have an inside track with the creator of the universe should be viewed with suspicion.

Thanks for the question.

What one supply first taught that the universe was once constructed from not anything we will see? The Bible. At a time while all different philosophies have been pronouncing the universe was once both (a million) everlasting, (two) constituted of the frame of a useless god or any other pre-present topic, or (three) oscillating endlessly, Judeo-Christianity by myself acquired the reply proper. Where was once the growth of the universe first taught? In the Old Testament, in which in seven locations the statement is made that God stretched out the universe. An sincere research of historical past indicates that it was once Christians who have been on the leading edge of precise technology. The first guy identified to have claimed that the celebs and earth are made from the equal varieties of factors and that they're burning gadgets was once the Christian theologian/thinker John Philoponus. He lived within the sixth century and made his declare established on common-sense and on Bible production bills. (Genesis a million and a couple of aren't the one locations where the Bible elaborates on production). He additionally recommended physics experiments which Galileo implemented hundreds of thousands of years later. Galileo spoke enormously of him. The first components of the clinical system got here from Bishop Robert Grosseteste of the thirteenth century. The first correct mathematical physics system was once produced by way of Christian students at Merton College. The first clinical paper within the present day form was once by way of the Puritan Robert Boyle, who additionally gave us Boyle's Law of Gases. As a tender guy, he pondered suicide, considering the "technology" of the day was once so adverse to the Bible and he felt like he would no longer feel each. So he got down to uncover the reality, and what he found out helped revolutionize physics and settled questions in desire of the Bible and in opposition to Aristotle. I would pass on--actually I did in my booklet Scientists of Faith. Far from disproving the Bible, the findings of present day technology look to verify it increasingly. The Bible says mankind originated in a single field from one pair and spoke one language. Modern stories of mitochondria and DNA verify that each one dwelling individuals are traceable to a unmarried lady. Linguistics has proven that it's most probably all languages derived from a proto-language. Often Genesis a million throws folks off, considering our English translations do not deliver the entire experience of the Hebrew. Two one of a kind phrases are used for production there, for illustration, one that means to difference or upgrade some thing that already existed... For myself, I've learn each technology and the Bible because a young person and always seeing probably the most great connections and confirmations among one and the opposite. The Bible teaches that God cautiously crafted the universe. Biologists uncover tiny, difficult vehicles in cells, which paintings at the equal concepts and designs as our vehicles. They have discovered mobile protein-clocks that actually rotate and act just like a human-made clock. Such findings propose layout and a clothier. Perhaps you will have to be extra unique. To what explicitly do you item within the Bible? Balaam's donkey speakme? If God can layout this problematic universe and deliver it into being, it is not rough to feel he would manage a donkey's sound chords. It effectively indicates that he has a greater order of clinical potential than we do. Even a well ventriloquist would create the phantasm of it, and mankind has now reached the level of being equipped to make inanimate machines "speak"--no less than my pc does.

Good question and the Xtians I know don't ask someone to auto-convert or pressure anyone, instead we exchange ideas or pray with or ask for prayer with others. On evolution 'I know it's false because of scientific and mathematical logic'. Christianity all fits together for me and I don't see anything lacking in it's scope.
