The gift of discernment is like when someone walks in the room and the hair on your neck stand up. You know that something about that person is not right. Any one can have this ability. even people who don't know God. But if you have the Holy Spirit in you He can give you alert you in specifics about that person, revealing much more than anyone could possibly know except that person and God. And it is not to do with the telling of the future or any such thing as divination but for the purpose of revealing facts that are in need of prayer or issues that God is dealing with. It has to be consistent with the Word of God, in Truth and in Spirit. There are many examples of it in the Bible.

Discernment is more than just a spiritual gift. It requires study and years of experience. People who are "spiritual advisers" must have this. Discernment enables one to help another person to understand the source of their thoughts and ideas that are coming up. It could be from their own subconscious mind, from God or from the enemy. Most of the time it is the first one.

I discern that you are unsure about something.
hahaha. Discernment is one of the spiritual gifts. If you have Christ, you have all things. Concentrate on the One who gives out the gifts rather than the gift. Shalom.

Discernment
Discernment is essential in making wise decisions. It's in the Bible, James 1:5, TLB. "If you want to know what God wants you to do, ask Him, and He will gladly tell you, for He is always ready to give a bountiful supply of wisdom to all who ask Him; He will not resent it."
Discernment is essential for spiritual growth. It's in the Bible, Hebrews 5:14, TLB. "You will never be able to eat solid spiritual food and understand the deeper things of God's Word until you become better Christians and learn right from wrong by practicing doing right."
Discernment comes to those who are humble. It's in the Bible, Psalms 25:9, NIV. "He guides the humble in what is right and teaches them His way."
Spiritual things are spiritually discerned. It's in the Bible, I Corinthians 2:13,14, NIV. This is what we speak, not in words taught us by human wisdom but in words taught by the Spirit, expressing spiritual truths in spiritual words. The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned."

I believe I do, (but I think all Christians should). I feel that way because some demonic stuff went down in my church this summer and I was one of the few who saw threw it and did not get caught up in the foolishness. The proof that I have is that when all of the heresy that was being taught came out to leadership, I was on the right side of it all, Thank God.

Any true Bible believing Christian has the Holy Spirit AND most of all His Word. More you understand His Word, more discernment you will have.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
More of His Word you have, less you will be deceived.

I have known some who can see into the spirit. Others just have a sensing of spiritual presence. My wife is very decerning and our daughter is developing the gift also. My wife has prophetic dreams and we use it to our advantage to pray for others or situations, depending on the dream itself.

If it can be proven, would it still be spiritual?
