"God created earth" - Im sorry but if god is Human and humans came waayyy after earth formed who created him?? Uhhh His parents mabye.

"God created you" I could have sworn my parents had something to do with it.

"God told me to do it." You mean he just floated in your face and spoke to you? If anything you did it yourself and blamed it on him.

Does this make any sense??

I get the feeling some dudes just wrote up some rules in a bible and tortured people who didn't follow it until people kept it as a hobby.

All it says in the Bible is that we are created in his image. That does not mean that he is human. And besides....who created your parents? Your grandparents? And who created them? It goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. And guess who created them? GOD. And your question about God creating the earth is simply answered. Go anywhere in nature. How could this have happened by accident? The fact that we have just the right mixture of chemicals in the air, we can drink and eat stuff that came from this earth, and all the intricacy and beauty around you could not have happened by accident. How did the Earth come about without a Creator? There is the Big bang theory, which put in a simpler analogy says that if u smash a watch to billions of bits and pieces, put all those pieces in a ziploc bag, sealed it, and shook the bag, the watch would come back together. That is impossible. So, I hope i have been of assistance, and as said by other answerers (for lack of better name) He is not human!

You said, "I get the feeling some dudes just wrote up some rules in a bible and tortured people who didn't follow it until people kept it as a hobby."

The FACT is that the witnesses of the resurrected Christ penned the gospels at great risk to their own lives. They did not torture anyone. All of the apostles, except for John, suffered agonizing deaths for their faith and for telling others the truth. The books in the Bible are not a bunch of fairytales or make-believe stories. Would the apostles risk such brutal deaths in order to propagate a bunch of fairytales? Would you? Certainly not!

Today, Christians in other countries are arrested and executed for their faith. Even today, in our modern times, Christians are being killed by barbaric means, by crucifiction. In Muslim countries, conversion to Christianity means sure death if you're caught. Despite this persecution around the world, Christianity is still thriving - you can't silence God's word.

I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be willing to die for a belief (or a hobby, as you call it) that wasn't true.

"god created the earth"...i just cant help but quote from the creation hymn, its part of rig veda, one of the spiritual books of the Hindu's:

Who really knows, and who can swear,
How creation came, when or where!
Even gods came after creation's day,
Who really knows, who can truly say
When and how did creation start?
Did He do it? Or did He not?
Only He, up there, knows, maybe;
Or perhaps, not even He.

the creation hymn ends with a question, and tht encourages me to question wotever is presented to me...and it also tells us not to take nething at face value but to question and look for logic....

God is not a human. God became flesh, We call him Jesus. God was before the earth was formed. Those who say God told me to do it probably a little crazy hu? Don't get your information from them. Read the Bible.

Since when is God human? That's a new one. God has always been and will always be.

Yes, your parents had something to do with your creation, but God created your soul. Even before you were born, He knew every hair on your head.

God does talk to us. We only have to kow how to listen. And generally, He won't talk to us until we first talk to Him.

I hope this cleared things up for you.

God is imaginary. The bible is a bunch of scraps of old book bundled up together. Religion ever since we can discover is about mind control. The priests were the rulers and had power, just like witch doctors in Africa. Good luck. Live free!

God isn't human. His son is.

God created your parents, who created you. He also supposedly created your soul.

God "speaks" to people through inspiration, the same way an artist is inspired.

So yeah. It makes sense.

This is coming from an agnostic. :/

God created all, but there were Gods before him (yes, his parents). God created Adam and Eve, and gave them the power to procreate. You are his spirit child. He created your spirit and your parents aided in the creation of your earthly body.
As for the last one... it really depends on the situation... it sounds to me like it's just an excuse to get out of punishment, but it's hard to tell.
