Yes, and some have been prosecuted and done prison time as a result. Which is entirely appropriate.

They believe in power of God, they also believe in human immune system to take care of the most illness. They distrust doctors. They are right about it in most or some cases.

But.

There are cases where the other treatments can save life, by timely intervention from surgery or medicine.

This is a sad situation but most important is that we do leave in free country and any one has right to die with dignity, and refuse treatment or search and look for treatment(stem cell, marijuana, this is also denied in many countries by law).

What is good for goose is good for gender.

Life is neither fair nor simple. Some countries constitutions guaranty pursuit of happiness but that is all, they do not guarantee or nor they can guarantee happiness.

The Church of Christ, Scientist, better known as Christian Science, denies the reality of sickness.

In her book Rudimental Divine Science, Mary Baker Eddy, founder of the movement, declares, "What seem to be disease, vice, and mortality are illusions of the physical senses," (1919 ed. p. 11). If they are illusions, then there can be no reality to sickness and disease. If there is no reality, then there is no need to seek medical treatment.

According to the doctrine of Christian Science, when members appear to be sick, that is but an illusion. To be cured, the member must be treated mentally by a Christian Science practitioner, for "It places no faith in hygiene or drugs..."

Many church followers have died from refusing treatment for common medical issues such as diabetes.

But in the US, we are all free to worship as we please, and to allow others the same right. So we may disagree with their views-- expecially the refusal to take medicine--but we cannot libel them and call them murderers.

i have a problem with that kind of thinking too. but people believe all kinds of things when it comes to the different religions. if they are denying treatment for themselves that is their choice. its different if they prevent others from receiving treatment ... that would be contributing to their illness or death

i don't understand it either...
but then again.... why do some people try medication that isn't approved yet?
Or why do people take medications with horrible side effects.
Everyone is looking for the "cure" and there is no explaining peoples belief in what they are trying.

well in there eyes they are not doing anything wrong. the only person that will judge them and should be judgeing them is Jesus, for his father God gave him that right, cause he was on earth in a human body, and walked and lived with man. So you should really leave that up to Jesus when it is time for them to be judged.
