Yep...sounds like fleas to me also!
A way to check for fleas is to put a couple of white socks on your hands and run them over the carpet. They'll jump on!
You can hire a professional pest control person or buy a spray that you can apply yourself. Make sure you get the time-release spray which will also take care of any eggs that have not hatched yet.
Good Luck - I HATE FLEAS!!!

sounds like fleas... they usually go for the area between the ankles and just under the knee (I guess as high as they can jump?)
you have a pet? probably the source of the fleas. keep them and their bedding clean and spray a combination of Lavender and Eucalyptus essential oils in water on the surfaces where the animals touch down. You can bathe the critters in the same formula but they won't like it much (but they will smell very nice) and you can put this on your ankles to start the healing and take down the itch. If it is fleas, you will be happy to know that they have a life cycle and then are gone for a while. If you get rid of your pet, your vulnerability to the fleas already in the house will go up. Many pet "insecticides" are toxic to the animal, so it's up to you as to whether you want to go more natural and put up with a little more discomfort or to use the chemical bomb and start your animal's death decline a little earlier. You can also put fresh garlic and brewer's yeast in your pet's food... fleas don't like that.
Or maybe it's something else altogether.... all the best!

First thing that comes to my mind and the most probable is fleas. You don't neccesarily need to have pets to have fleas. Friends who have pets that have fleas and have visited could of brought them over, also mice and other rodents are flea carriers also. Another thing that comes to mind is chiggers. If it is other I have found that put clear fingernail polish on the bites to stop itching if that is the case. Hoped I helped a lil!!!

Sounds like fleas. Do you have any pets that could have brought them inside? If so, you'll need to give them a good bath with special shampoo.

There are so many bugs it's hard to tell you what type. I would suggest nightly rubbing with a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol. Bugs hate it. If your skin burns while you're applying the alcohol, that means it's working.

Scabies, bed bugs or fleas are the biggest candidates. Fleas are hard to get rid of if they are in your home. For bed bugs, you need an exterminator to spray your home and you need to thoroughly clean bedding/mattresses. For scabies you need a topical medicine from the doctor.

Possibly bed bugs. Bugs tend to go for the ankles because your veins are close to the skin there and they smell the blood.

Usually this is caused by fleas. Have cats? Cats are bad to get them and bring them in the house. You may need to spray your carpets.

fleas...to get rid of them, don't let outdoor cats indoors, and buy flea bombs from walmart or something. you will have to wash all of your blankets & clothes & stuff too. fleas lay eggs in clothing.
