My Dr prescribed Phentermine for weight loss but another Dr I recently saw told me that these were very dangerous. Does anyone know anything about this?

If your doctor prescribed it for you, I assume he checked out your blood and other vitals and thought that it would be safe for you. It does raise your blood pressure.
A lot of people are still confused about the whole phen-fen thing. They think phentermine was the culprit, but it was the "fen" half which made people sick and that's been taken off the market.
Others don't understand the difference between prescription diet pills (such as phentermine, adipex, meridia, orlistat), which work, and over-the-counter diet "aids" which don't work.
I'm on Phentermine now and have lost weight with it every time. The problem is that after a few months you get used to it and it stops working; then you become addicted if you don't stop taking it. Otherwise I'd take it until I reached my goal weight.

Try Web MD meds. It'll tell you ingredients and the possible side affects. Some of those diet aids are very dangerous if you have high blood pressure, or any history of a heart condition. I used to take an OTC diet aid and it damn near killed me.
