No, absolutely not.
I do believe that there are many people out there that are excellent matches for us, and that we will come across them at just the right time in our lives.
Not just one, but many possibilities. And, just being a "soul-mate" isn't enough, you have to still work hard at relationship, make wise choices, and grow together in the same direction, or that "soul-mate" attraction will wane.
And yes... I am with one.

i used to believe in soul mates, not any more....we have some real close friends, but nothing like soul mates..
reading ur question i was reminded of a book i once read, ' a bridge across forever' by Richard Bach..it was autobiographical where he talked abt finding his soul mate...i too started believing in them..( i was a 15-16 at tht time) but wit time i realized tht each time i fell in love i felt convinced tht person was my soul mate, i out grew tht belief..and recently i found out Richard Bach too had divorced " his soul mate"...

We are all connected through collective unconciousness, god, our souls, energy or whatever you want to call it.
So we are all soul mates on that type or rhelm.
Physically, we may have several physical soulmates, none, or just one but really we are all interconnected.

there can be many, some souls are split many times, others stay intact, the intercation is love, the connection does not have to be part of the interaction, my soul mate is my best friend, and that is enough just to know that

No, does anyone realize how ridiculous is. There is over 6 billion people the world, if there was one person that we were meant to be with there would be about a .0000000000000000000000000001% chance that anyone would find theirs.
Truth is, there are many people that are compatible with any given person.

NO. There are many ppl one can love and be loved by. Love is a choice and action. That smarmy feeling is just lust and infatuation that passes with time.

I don't know if there's "just one" (a lot of people remarry after their spouse dies), but I do believe that there's "at least one" for everyone out there. :)

No, some prefer to live, die and progress to a higher plane alone.

Nope. Humans are not meant to be with only one person for their entire lives. We are serial monogamists.
