I don't believe smoking is causing your hair to fall out, especially if it's only 1/2 pack a day.
The only cure for your hair loss is...clippers and a razor. Yep, just go ahead and shave the rest off. Don't sweat it!
The pills, potions, and lotions are not going to grow it, I don't care what they claim. And if something like Rogaine or Avacor does miraculously work, you have to keep using it every day or whatever growth you have will fall out. That could run into thousands of dollars over a lifetime! And surgery is risky, painful, and not 100% effective, I don't care what Dr. Bosley says in his informercial. And don't even consider Sy Sperling and his Hair Club "hair systems" (a.k.a. toupees). All these companies spends billions upon billions trying to get men to feel self-conscious about their balding. Don't make these guys rich; shave it off. If you can pull off a shaved head well, women won't leave you alone! That's a plus right there! Trust me!

My hair began thinning and receading in my mid twenties, good over ten years in the past. I persisted with thickening shampoos for a even as however finally went to the barbers and requested him to clip all of it off to a quantity one. That itself was once approximately 4 years in the past and I must have performed so much faster. It appears such a lot neater and so far as I'm involved is way much less noticeable than having "natural" duration hair with bald or receading places due to the fact that they distinction with the hair extra making the bald bits simpler to look. Getting your hair chopped proper down could be a little bit of a daring transfer to make. You would ponder whether this type of drastic difference will fit you and you'll be caught like that for a while. Don't fear on that account, you can be amazed how rapidly your hair does develop. I ought to clip mine each and every 4 days or to be able to maintain it as quick as I now desire it. Getting your possess clippers saves plenty of money and time too. They pays for themselves in a month and getting your hair reduce is now 5 mins in the toilet.

You could try Rogaine or a similar hair re-growth medication, but they don't tend to work very well. You could try a thickening shampoo--I know L'Oreal makes one that claims to thicken your hair by 50%.
Also, don't think that growing your hair long will make you look less bald. It will only make you look more noticeably bald. Cutting your hair short (or even shaving it off) will help your appearance even if you can't do anything about the hair loss.

Smoking dehydrates the body (even sucks calcium out of bones) so I'd say yes.
Try gelatin capsules and air-dry your hair from now on to prevent further damage. Eat healthy food because if you take in crap, it's effects will show on your hair.
My friend tried rogaine, but he had an adverse reaction where he would continously hear ringing in his right ear. If you're gonna use it, check the directions first.

If you mean you are going bald then you can try Rogaine but it is only a temporary solution. The best thing is hair implants .. Costly but effective.
Hair follicles from the back of your head are transplanted to the front and are what they call " hair plugs". the hair "roots" and grows .

Hair loss and thinning hair have been sensitive issues for men throughout time. Recently, medical science has finally identified the main cause of hair loss. Now, it is a known medical fact that hair loss stems from both genetic and hormonal causes. Androgenetic Alopecia or "male pattern hair loss" is implicated in 95% of hair loss cases. The key is a hormonal byproduct called DHT (dihydrotestostrone). The more DHT that gets put into your body, the more your hair follicles become thinner and finer until the hair is permanently lost.
Provillus blocks DHT (dihydrotestostrone) from getting to your body, which is one of the major causes of hair loss. The Breakthrough formula of Provillus was designed to block DHT and supply the proper nutrients to your body specifically tailored to prevent hair loss and to help you regrow hair naturally. Strong, healthy hair begins with the proper nutritional building blocks. You don't have to wait until there's a problem to prevent it! Provillus supplements your body's natural supply of these nutrients and lets the tiny follicles beneath your scalp receive exactly what they need to create beautiful, full-bodied hair.
Provillus is a new and revolutionary herbal medication to treat hair loss in men and women. Provillus comes in a convenient tablet form that is taken daily for the treatment of male hair loss and female hair loss. Provillus is an all-natural supplement available without a prescription.

Surprisingly, baldness doesn't run on the father's side of the family, you would inherit this gene from your mother. Did she or your grandmother have thin hair? If so, you're going bald!
No worries. Surveys have shown that most women prefer bald man rather than red heads. True.

Smoking probably did have something to do with it but most likely its genetic, as your dad when he started to lose hair, or ask your mom if she knows when her dad started to lose hair.
I heard rogain really works, it wont help much with bringing hair back, but it will you from losing existing hair.
Good luck!
