A "BREAK" IN A RELATIONSHIP IS THE EASY WAY FOR TWO PEOPLE TO SAY THAT THEY WANT TO BREAK UP.

IN MY EXPERIENCE, EVERYONE I HAVE KNOWN WHO HAVE HAD "BREAKS" ENDED UP BREAKING UP IN THE END.
THEY WOULD HAVE THEIR "BREAKS" AND THEN GET BACK TOGETHER WHEN THEY THINK THEYVE WORKED IT OUT, BUT IN REALITY THEY REALLY HAVENT. THUS THEY JUST TAKE ANOTHER "BREAK" WHICH TURNS OUT BECOME A BREAK UP.

IF A RELATIONSHIP IS THAT UNSTABLE THAT YOU NEED TO TAKE A "BREAK" FROM EACH OTHER, THEN IT'S NOT GOING TO WORK. THERES OBVIOUSLY SOME SERIOUS ISSUES THAT NEED TO BE RESOLVED BUT CANNOT BE, AND IF YOU THINK A BREAK IS WHAT YOU NEED TO RESOLVE THEM, YOU'RE LIVING IN AN UNREALISTIC FANTASY. HE/SHE WILL NOT CHANGE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU THINK THEY WILL.

BREAKS ARE FOR SISSYS WHO DONT HAVE THE BALLS TO BREAK IT COMPLETELY OFF.

JUST END IT ALREADY.

It means taking a time out. If you live together with someone, then you move out. If not, you will just basically doesnt meet your other half at all or still meeting him/her but with limited contact only.
People who are taking a break/timeout usually the couples who have continuous fight or 1 partner is cheating the other, or 1 partner get cold feet for marriage/commitment, or any of them doesnt know what they want in the relationship. They are confuse, so the timeout happened with compromise between both of them
By taking a time out, they will get more space and time to be alone & they can think clearly, thus can decide what they really want from their relationship

Well, actually, everytime I have ever tried a break with someone it leads to a break up.

I would say it is taking some time away, not knowing whether you will get back together or not. I think it can either make or break a relationship with someone.

Taking a break is infact like breaking up. Someone decides that they need time to think about something, figure something out or just need theyre on space/time, and in the mean time it means that your not together because when you "break" something it is not whole so there for its not together. SO saying that we need to go on a break is code word for i want to break up.

I am guessing you two need space to know where ya'll want to be. Things maybe a little too clustered or confused.
Don' t be afraid to leave your options open, and no regrets.....
