Old school house in the country near where I grew up, Strawberry cream wedding cake, a sextet of friends from UGA played at the reception, and we left in a friends replica shelby cobra.
I paid for it all, my wife was in grad school at the time and her funds were tight. Most of the ceremony was free or cheap.
1800's School house = free with family ties
Wedding cake =500 dollars, its what she wanted
Musicians = 70 dollars when I took them out for drinks in thanks
Her dress = her mother bought it
tux for 7 groomsmen= 500
food = 2000
car = free, I called in a favor from an online friend
Flowers = A friend gave us all we needed as a wedding present
It was in the ballpark of 3000 for it all not counting the little things.

I put the video below! :)
We had a semi large wedding of about 200 people in Anchorage. The ceremony was short with the reception in the same building, right next door (we had a lot of older people). We had a lot of dancing, a delicious meal, and it was all around pretty elegant. My parents paid for the wedding.
After the honeymoon we had another reception in Texas. It was low key with jeans, cowboy boots, etc. We had it out by the water and it was gorgeous (but hot!). In the evening we went to country concert at Greune Hall. His parents paid for that.
We did it this way for many reasons: 1. we had a lot of college friends who wouldn't be able to afford a trip to Alaska 2. we're both classy (I think!) but country at the same time and wanted to show that 3. it kept the two families from fighting. :) good luck!

It was like the movie White Christmas!
We did a December wedding and used four bone hoop skirts,
the girls carried fur muffs and had hats with maribu feather.
The church was decorated with Christmas decorations so
we didn't need to decorate much. They had poinsetta flowers
everywhere and twinkle lights, it was really romantic, so we
ended up having a night wedding and the guests held candles
thru out the ceremony. It was beautiful. We left for the reception in a sleigh that had wheels if it didn't snow, but it did! All the
girls were dressed in red satin dresses, This is one wedding
that everybody still talks about and it happened thirty years ago!

We were married at my families church with only 12 guests (immediate family only) and had a small reception dinner (30 people) at my parents home a hour after the service. My parents paid for the flowers, my dress (simple white non wedding designer dress) as well as the caterer, and all other expenses. I never wanted a wedding, I am a jeans & t shirt undersated person, I wanted a marriage.

We had a traditional Ukrainian wedding. Our ceremony was at our hometown church, and was concelebrated by three priests - one was my husband's brother, the other two were our friends. The ceremony was in Ukrainian; the people had booklets so they could follow translations of what was going on. We had the traditional "crowning" of the bride and groom to be king and queen of the day, with wreaths of real myrtle plant placed on our heads (some churches use real crowns). The ceremony was beautiful, even though it was sweltering that July day!
We had our reception at a ballroom in the city, for around 200 people. It was lots of fun, but I went through it "blindly" - almost literally. My glasses had broken that morning, and there was nowhere to get them fixed, and I had no alternative!
I wore my fantasy wedding gown, with tiara. Our colours were teal, pink, lilac and yellow - so all the decorations were gorgeous, and it was fun to colour coordinate everything. Instead of a big wedding cake, we had traditional Ukrainian wedding breads (korovai), three tiers of braided breads, decorated beautifully.
We paid for the bulk of our wedding, with my mom paying for half the food (I am the fifth kid, so she did what her and my dad did for all the kids).
So, we're at over 17 years and still counting, happily....

It was a church wedding with a low budget. I wore my great grandmother's wedding dress. I had one matron of honor who could wear any dress she wanted. the groom and best man were the only men in tuxs. The reception was finger foods made by the ladies of the church.
My parents paid for it even though I was on my own and teaching.
That was 30 years ago...........and we are still married! So it all worked!

We paid for ours ourselves, Its better that way because you get to make all the decisions without having to get approval from the payer! It was a great day. We said our vows at the bay-side at high tide about 9.00am. I didn't want to do it latter in the day and have to spend too long getting ready!! I had only 1 bridesmaid (my best friend) who travelled 6 hours for it and my husband had one of his brothers. As I have 2 daughters from a previous partner my husband and I wanted them to feel included. He brought them each a gold locket on chains and a big part of the ceremony was the vows they said to each other. He promise to guide love and protect them always and then they were asked if they accepted his promise and they both said "We Do' Then he placed the lockets around their necks. Our cake was anything but traditional! We had a warm liquid chocolate fountain with fresh strawberries and marshmallows for dipping. YUMMO!! Our food was served in noodle boxes with silver handles and blue bows. The whole wedding was themed sky blue and silver. I didn't have a specific theme as such though, We had Thai food, bridesmaid dress was sort of Indian and my dress was medieval style! My husband, his brother and our son wore beige pants and blue shirt and sandals. My girls wore silver and blue dresses both hand made by me. Far out I could go on for ever about it!!! A friend took video and another the photos and I walked over to him with "The Rose" playing. he whole day came in at under $1500 as I hand made all the invitations and table settings with use of my PC. My kids made the bubble mixture about a week before and we covered mini champaigne bottles with silver paper and made little blowers for them. Had the reception back at our place and hired all the tables and chairs...Great day. Let me know if you want to see some pics and ill email them to you.

I had a very romantic wedding.
My husband planned everything with families from both side. I do not even know the venue until that very moment.
He had his friend to drive me a place by the river.
Only then did i see him holding a bunch of balloons and a bouquet of flowers stuffed with a few mini teddy bears in between.
Then i was led to a river boat. The boat was decorated with flowers and our names. and I took the boat to the restaurant where the solemnisation was supposed to take place.
During which, we passed by thousands of people who were on the bridge. Many people shouted their blessings for us.
Tourists in other river boats were busy taking pictures of us.
Only immediate family members and few friends attend the ceremony. After which we had lunch.
I had arranged for my brother's gf to bring in a bouquet of flowers I bought for him.
Then at the end of it... we free all the heart-shaped balloons into air.
Then he walked to his car with a huge teddy bear tied to it.
We shared the cost.

As my hubby's family lived in another city so we had two weddings one there and one here where we are living. both of them were good, 1st one was in their place and his parents and himself paid for everything (dinner, music, etc) but the 2nd was in our place, my father and my hubby paid for it.
The weather was too hot, but both were memorable weddings. I will never forget the good and some minor "Not-good" things happened that night.
