Are you kidding me?? Who do you think saved all of the great ideas, plays, and writings of the Romans and Greeks? Christians burned all the libraries of the ancient world (see Alexandria) to the ground and brought about the Dark Ages (approx. 400-1500 AD). Those works were rediscovered from Islamic translations. Even though Christian leaders still killed many who used those writings as a springboard to science (Bruno), and tortured many others (Galileo), the ideas of the Greeks survived. The atom as the smallest unit, the earth being round (and not the center of the universe), and democracy are some notable gifts.
Otherwise Islam is currently giving the world the same thing Christianity is - false beliefs, pain, torture, mass killings, and a hatred of truth and science.

I don't think religion gives anything to the world except another way to hate those different than yourself. Middle easterners, however, haven't contributed anything to the betterment of the world.
Persia used to be the cultural center of the ancient world and now look at them.
I just looked up inventions from A to Z and not one middle eastern country had an inventor/invention listed.
They didn't even find the oil under the sand they exist upon! It was geologists from Canada and Britain.

Islam really didn't give anything. All that it is, is a moon worshiping pagan cult, that Satan mixed with some trumped up history (i.e. the flood happened in the time of Moses? yeah right!) along with bad facts of Christianity and sold it (or should I say FORCED it) on a bunch of renegade nomads.
It allows for governments to teach their children that Jews eat children and are dirty pigs and should be wiped of the face of the earth. And last but not least they gave men the right to BEAT their loving wives if they should happen to rebel against them. Oh, yeah peace and love to mankind also.
