It's not worth two friends to go out with a guy. But I don't see that happening.

First of all, if you go on a date, and things don't work out, be open with the male friend. There's no reason that you should be nervous about telling a friend of that long that you just don't think it will.

Second of all, if the girl friend is TRULY a friend, she'll understand that the male friend express his interest in YOU, not her. She should have no reason to be mad at you; you're not in charge of his feelings.

Third of all, do you want to go? Don't feel bad about turning him down if you're not interested. If I dated some of my guy friends, I think it would be a bit like dating my brother...just a tad odd.

I hope everything works out for you :)

it's NEVER worth two friends. One of my best friends (cassy) dated another of our good friends (stephen). they ended up having sex and breaking up. they haven't spoken since, and they still can't stay in the same room together.

One of my good friends (dave) asked me out a while ago, and I just told him no, that it wasn't worth spoiling our friendship over. he took it really well. I hope you are as fortunate.

On the other hand, it depends on how much you value friendship versus romance. If you would trust both of these people with your life, I do not suggest dating your friend. If your 'other friend' does not mean very much to you, then it's totally your call.

Generally, it is not advisable to date your best friend if someone else likes him. Under different circumstances, it might be wonderful. Good luck!

Tell him that you're not looking for a relationship and that you'd rather not get into that phase with him. Tell him you'd rather spend the rest of your lives as best friends than maybe a year as a couple. Often times friends-turned-couples have the worst endings.

Good luck. This is hard for you, I know. Just do your best and stay on the defensive. No one can blame you for saying how you feel and trying to keep things together.

well your decision depends on if you like him or not... According to you the friendship bounds are very important so maybe you should tell this guy that you like him as a friend and that you dont want to risk your friendship, if he thinks the same he will understand. Another thing you can do is encourage your other female friend to go out with your male friend...that way everybody is happy.

If you've been friends for 10 years, you've probably been through a lot of bad times, so it's most likely a pretty strong friendship. If you have any doubts, or don't like him romantically, don't go out with him. If you do, give it a shot. Things will fall into place with your other friend.

I would see exactly how your female friend thinks about him and if it's really serious and your not into your guy friend like that explain to him that you two have been friends for too many years that you look at him as a brother and you still want to be friends and also play match maker while your at it, see what your guy friend thinks about your female friend and see what kinda connection you can make.

I would see if anything transpires between the 2 of them first. Give her a shot at him if you're not completely sure if you're interested. At least that way you will show her respect, and give you some time to see if he is what you want.
Who knows, you may see the 2 of them together and not care at all...problem solved!
Good luck!

sounds like you already answered your own question. There are more fish in the sea that won't jeapardize two friendships.
