WITHOUT the bar scene, crowded partys, and dances. I am intereted in hearing some of the ways that may work for shy types. Have a lot of interests from music, computers, cars, jokes, movies and such and not concidered boring or anything -- just the quiet type at first --Thanks for both male and female replies

Get involved in the community. You'll meet people from all walks of life that life in your area. Volunteer, travel to the neighboring towns around where you live. Or get a dog. Many of my friends have borrowed my dog for a day to try and meet someone. Buddy gets a girl and the dog gets to go for a long walk. Win win. Just make sure you care for the dog to and use it for picking up.

I am really shy and 22 so I should be able to help. Are you religious? Try going to a church that has a singles group for young people. Also, work place or the park while walking your dog....gosh that even gets a shy girls attention is when a guy is walking his dog! lol

you should think about what type of girl you want and where they most likely would hang out. or where they typically go to get picked up. try cafes most have music nights, you might meet some nice girls there.

this might sounds scary and lame, but try internet dating if you are too shy to approach people. its really not just for weirdos anymore. alternately, just drop hints to your friends that you would like to be introduced to girls, or join a club or volunteer or something to meet more people. Even if you just end up meeting more guy friends, you never know who their girl friends might be.
