Technically, your homeowner's insurance should cover it, unless the guy who threw it was actually working for you at the time and not really a "guest."

Morally, you should know better than to have guests in your house who'd even dare to throw your TV, let alone out a window.

Etiquettely, It's impolite to throw a TV out a window without first opening it and hollering, "Whozaire...!" -This comes from the old English Rennaisance practice of throwing wash water out windows. Always be a gentleman and let those on the street below know that garbage is being dumped.

In a car, if a minor under 16 is not buckled up, you are responsible. But when passengers 16 and older are buckled they are responsible. But, if an accident occurs, then both the owner and driver were responsible. I would say the same goes with guests in our own home. Minors under the age of 13 are not usually aware of the consequences of there actions. It is therefore up to the person in charge of them to be responsible for their actions. And if their parent or gardian is not there, then it is you. However, for those 13 and older, they should know right from wrong and be aware that their actions may have negative consequences. For people in this group, they should be responsible for about 99% their own actions. However, you should have about 1% of the responsibility, since you allowed them in you home and did not keep the situation under control. However, there may be situations where you were not given a choice. In those situations, I believe you are not responsible.

Everyone must be accountable for their own actions. If you throw a tv on someone and kill them, then I guess you'll just be goin' to jail there, boy!!
