I have an almost 3 month old septum piercing with a doctor's appt tomorrow for my asthma. I'll have it flipped up but I just don't know the likelihood of him accidently seeing it and don't know if he'd mention it to my mom or not.

Anyways thanks!

I was told by my piercer not to take mine out for 6 months so I'm not sure if you should. But if its going to be a huge problem with your mother you could give it a try. And then if it does close up get it done again. Not a great answer it just depends on your situation.

I doubt that it would close in the short time it would take for you appointment.
My daughter had her septum piercing without jewelry for 7 years and it did not close.

It really shouldnt close up if you take it out for your appointment just remember to put it back in after its done. If you do decide to leave it in and he asks you about it, I doubt he will tell your mom about it... Just ask him not to... you can play the doctor patience confidentiality card

I would suggest not taking it out, but if you must, you must. Just be careful with re-insertion, and put it right back in as soon as you can SAFELY!! That means wash your hands, and soak the jewelry in alcohol.

Good luck.
