It can. Yoga can awaken energy in you. Instead of watching the tube and chowing down, you might be more interested in going to the mountains above Stinson Beach, and from your perch at the edge of the pine forest a vertical half mile above the seashore, as you ease into the Lotus position, you are working muscles you didn't know you had, and you are burning calories. Most significantly, you are not watching the tube and drowning your oral cravings with a bag of pork rinds.

We, western people learn stupid yoga because I have been to India and the yoga they teach their is not just about complex poses but also about breathing exercises which can help you to lose weight easily in about 10 days-3-4 pounds and they are pretty easy. Try to contact somebody who can teach you yoga and has learned form India. or you can join a really good club which teaches the "good" things.

combined with cardio yoga can help you get the leaner more muscular look but probably not in itself, but by doing yoga it helps strectch your muscles with which combined with the right exercise like elliptical-a proven fat burner but easier on the knees and joints than running- can definately help you lose the weight and give you the look you desire but to lose weight you have to have the appropriate heart rate for your weight/age for at least twenty minutes to start burning fat cells :o)

Depends on what type of yoga. Bikram (the hot room style) and Ashtanga (a very physical style involving alot of movement) definitely burn calories. Hatha and other gentler types - not really. All are good though.

Yes my sister was a little fluffy and she ate a lot of yogart instead of snack foods and she lost a lot of weight. Its because it is more healthey.

It burns calories. It is not as easy at it looks if you have a good teacher...plus, there is the one type you do in the sauna (WHHHEWWW)
