There is currently no birth control available for dogs. there used to be, but it caused so much Cancer that it was recalled. the only birth control is abstinence. If you have a male, it is safest to board hm while the female is in heat, because to a dog, where there is a will, there is a way..
I discovered that the hard way, when I had a litter of Dobermans and Afghan hound cross! AND, I was super careful! But he cleared 3 six foot fences to get to her...sigh
One dog tore the cellar window off to get to the female, and the owners found them both in the kitchen when they got back from shopping!

The only reliable safe option is to spay her. Dogs' hormone cycles are completely different from ours, there is no such thing as a birth control shot or pill for dogs. There is an "abortion shot" that can be given after an accidental breeding, but it is NOT safe and many vets refuse to use it.

If you don't want your dog to have puppies the best thing to do would be to have her spayed. If you don't want to do that keep her away from male dogs till she goes out of heat. The heat cycle for a dog is 21 days. There is no pill out there to control the heat cycles of a dog.

I don't mean to be rude, but DUH, take it to the vet and have the dog fixed...it can be expensive but it's foolproof and cheaper than feeding and vaccinating lots of puppies.
