The effects of nutmeg are likened to a feeling of loss of balance and nausea similar to being unpleasantly drunk. However, I should think that the amounts of nutmeg required for this effect would make you feel rather ill anyway. Coriander is another option. It is slightly hallucinogenic when eaten in very large amounts. Magic mushrooms grow wild in many temperate climates, although when these are prepared they are recognised as a class 'A' controlled substance in most countries and are very dangerous. The best herbal 'high' you are likely to find in granny's garden is catnip. The effect that it has on cats (euphoria and hallucination) can be acheived in humans if it smoked, though again, this is not healthy. The only of the above that are not very harmful would be the nutmeg and the coriander, but if you eat enough to have an effect, you'll end up feeling fairly sick, I should imagine.

Hopefully one of those herbs is marijuana...but I have heard of the nutmeg high as well.

You can get high off of a substantial amount of nutmeg...however, it is almost universally reported as a very unpleasant high.
