Many intangible things have been referred to besides heaven and hell. I mean how real is Harry Potter? He's just a made up character, an idea just like religion ultimately really is. However we talk about intangible ideas all the time because it intrigues the mind. Life is chaotic to live through, and some people need something called religion to make sense of it all. It doesn't matter if they are right or wrong as long as it makes them happy, just like it makes you content enough not believing in a god. Heaven and Hell are the two polar extremes of where you can be after death, based on how you lived your life. They are made as incentives to live a civilized life. They are made as laws before laws where made. The fear of Hell to stop people from committing sins (some sins are basically laws now like killing, stealing, etc.) was the law that brought a sense of balance to the world.
But of course Hell doesn't exist because nothing you do no matter how bad, for one lifetime can decide the fate of your soul for an eternity. Eternity is eternal after all. If Hell cannot exist, then Heaven cannot either since they depend on each other to exist (well depending what religion you follow).

We wont know till we die. of course.when I was five I woke up terrified and there was greenish light in the room. I didn't wont to look over but when I did there were four or five small demons flying around my brothers bed one looked over with those evil eyes will never forget.I screamed but no sound came out. I put my head down till the light went away and they left.
when my grandmother was in the nursing home. my mother said she was reading to her and suddenly her eyes got bright. she smiled.she raise her hands and cried out Jesus!! and passed on.I don't know exactly what is going on.but something supernatural is .I personally believe and have faith in God and the Spirit of God. you have to have faith . faith opens a person to the Spirit. if you don't have faith then of course the spirit Cant work thru you. Faith is an amazing thing. a real force.I have seen a few real honest to God supernatural miracles.because without faith.the spirit just can not flow thru you.Its so simple. yet it seems so hard for some people to do.Its your choice. God is not going to make you do a thing.I do wish you the best.by the way how could someone prove scientifically something that's spiritual in nature. This is a physical world. but with the help of the spirit we can be in contact with the spiritual world.I wish you could have witnessed the miracles of the Spirit I have seen.

First, NONE of the groups that speak of heaven and hell say that being good or bad has ANYTHING to do with it. So, you're wrong there.
As to the existence of such, there is a great body of tradition that speaks to their existence. People believe in the tradition.
As to the religious leaders, it is mostly the Christian and related traditions that speak of such. Many speak rather of reincarnation and other possibilities.
Also, you have a quite interesting concept of punctuation. I especially enjoy the beginning of a question with a "." and the double punctuation ".?" at the end.

Well, you can't "prove scientifically" that somebody loves you, or that you love somebody.
But it's true anyway -- and you'd be rightly called a cold-hearted SOB if you demanded scientific proof of someone's love.
It's the same with God, with Heaven, with hell, and so on.
No, you can't prove them scientifically -- but only someone who worships at the Altar of Science (as if science is the be-all and end-all of everything) would want them to be proven that way.
Some things can't be proven in human terms. It takes faith and courage -- two things that atheists don't seem to have. Especially the latter one.

How can you prove that they don't exist? And also... Hell could very well exist... Even if heaven doesn't... What is towards the center of the Earth? Magma... Fire... Extreme heat and burning... Now... You try actually proving that they don't exist and I might provide you with one hell of alot better answer...

You know what else is an ancient concept? Inbreeding and cannibalism are bad. I think it's been agreed for ages that such ideas are looked down upon.
"Where is the suffering after death?" It cannot be proven scientifically.
Define good and bad.

Not everyone requires "science" to believe in something.
It's an odd little concept called "faith".
"Science" has also failed to prove that a person's sexual preference has any biochemical or physiological foundation, and yet it is touted daily because "no one can disprove it".
So there's a counter-question for you. "Science" has not proved the existence of "Heaven" or "Hell", but "science" has also not DISPROVED either one of them.
Science still can't prove the theory of evolution, which is why it's still a "theory".

Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Hell is a state of condition. You are living in it right now. Look around you. There are three heavans according to scripture. Heaven on earth where man will dwell at Jesus coming and the third heavan where The Father and the son are now. And the heaven where the stars birds moon and clouds are. You gotta read that book, but pray for understanding and God will give it to you.

The easiest way to make people follow and obey you is to lure them by rewards and frighten them by punishment.
Lo and Behold you have created Heaven and Hell
