SFX stands for SelF eXtracting (SFX) Archive file.

Solid archives are RAR-archives that are compressed using a special algorithm that copies all the files to be compressed into a single file before actually packing them. This significantly increase compression rates especially when many smaller, similar files are being compressed.

Put Authenticity Verification :: Put, in the archive, information concerning the creator, last update time and archive name. In archive management mode it is possible to read the authenticity information using the Show archive information.

OK.

SFX is a self-extracting formate. Ie, it archives as an .exe file so that the peron using doesn't need a program like winrar to open.

"Solid Archive" (also known as Solid Compress) uses a process where by all files are compressed into one single file before packing into the final archived package. Upside is that it results in an often far smaller file (esp. in the case of numerous small files. Downside is that the archival process can be slower.

"Authenticity Verification" is one I haven't taken any note of before, so I can only hazard a guess here is that it is a safeguard to prevent the file from being tampered with, comparing against the original file structure ...as I said, only an educated guess there
