I don't have really have a problem with it, but sometimes my negative side kicks in where I start thinking of all these reasons why 10 1/2 is too big, and why the relationship wouldn't work.
I think i'm worrying too much and shouldn't worry about all the silly things and just let things go naturally and be happy.

But I'm not sure what to do. I try to be happy and not have problems and doubts, and I am happy 95% of the time, but then I start contemplating...

I have mixed emotions/opinions and sometimes, as I said, I can't help but think about these things and worry about the future, risks, and etc.

What do you guys think?

I'm 23 and my husband is 34 and we have had a very healthy and loving relationship. Do what ever makes you happy. I myself happen to like older men, so it didn't bother me at all. Don't let other people pull you down about this situation. Usually people like that are just jealous. As long as you two have a understanding about the age difference and he respects you as an adult and you the same, then you should be happy together.

My b/f is 12 years younger than I am and we're celebrating our 2 year anniversary tomorrow (well today now)...I've never been happier. There are some big issues to discuss such as children, goals, etc....but if you both have the same dreams and goals in life....go for it....age is just a number. It's how you feel about the other person that matters.

As long as your happy, age shouldn't matter. My parents are 9 1/2 years apart. Then again, they got divorced after 10 years. But, if your happy, don't worry about it. Your probably thinking too much.

Unless he is really immature, I feel it is too big a spread for it to work in the long run. The difference between 30 and 40 in life experience is much, much less than the difference in your ages. I just don't see what you two would have in common other than sex.

Do what makes you happy. The only problem is the different maturity levels. Just make you both understand what is going on in the relationship.

I once dated a man who was 17 y/o my senior. We were so in love with each other. The age gap meant nothing to either one of us. If you're both willing to compromise then go for it! 95% of the time says a lot for itself.

Of course not! Love doesn't have an age limit. Ever seen "Girls Next Door?" The dude is probably 30 yrs older.

my grandparents are ten years apart and they are happily married. i think you have to consider how young is to young. 20 and 30, i would say nope. 25 and 35? 30 and 40? then i think the two might know a little more what they want out of life. i think it's a question of maturity and where those two individuals are in their life.
