In the beginning of his life as a baby (morning), he crawls on his hands and feet - 4 legs
During the prime of his life (evening), he walks normally - 2 legs
And in his golden years (night), he walks with the aid of a cane - 3 legs

I think the answer to this riddle is
4 legs in the morning would be a baby crawling
2 legs in the evening would be an adult
3 legs at night would be an elderly person walking with a cane.

A monkey...
Comes into my house in the morning on all fours, stays all day... then in the evening when I ain't looking, he stands on two legs and takes stuff off the table.... then at night, he still has a banana left and he carries it out, holding it with one hand and walking with the other three..
