There are several good ways to locate a scholarship. It does not cost any money to locate and apply for scholarships.

First, check with the individual college's financial aid office and website. Often, they list private scholarships offered from outside organizations and companies.

Second, the public library has a book listing scholarships. Some are not listed on the web.

Third, search Google.com and Yahoo.com for scholarships based on your religion and college major along with African American. Sometimes there are scholarships on the web that are not listed on the scholarship search websites.

Finally, join several free scholarship search websites. Most are updated on a regular basis. Most offer a customized search based on the information entered into a form on its website.

Good luck!
