The Bulletproof Vest Partnership (grants for vests) has already selected those to be awarded funding for the latest application period. Registration period is closed. Here is a link you may find helpful: https://vests.ojp.gov/registration/registrationsClosed.jsp
Keep checking back...

Have you thought about fundraising? Perhaps your detachment could raise enough money to buy vests for every officer.

Good luck.

I know of no grants sorry. Do know a bullet proof vest will not stop a knife or knife a bullet. A bullet proff vest can be worn over a knife proof vest. I looked into them while a subway emerengency mechanic. My military training wouldn't let me not put myself between a passenger and an armed nut. No one ever got seriously hurt but I got in trouble a lot for putting myself in danger.

Here's a link to used body armor on line.

Class IIIA. It may or may be the size/price that would work for you but it may be a stop gap solution until you can find something else.

Good luck!
