Ok. im trying to lose a lot of weight. i am wonderin if it would work to eat: whole wheat/whole grains, fruit, yogurts, jello, pretzles, carrots and broccoli(raw) with some sort of dip? in my opinion if im cuttin out all the fatty foods i usually eat, im eattin some freakin veggie dip. ya know? Oh, along with lots of exercise and water of course! so what does everyone think?

You are on the right track. Cutting out the "white" foods, is a great start. You know, flour, potatoes, stuff like that.

Becareful when you choose your yogurt. Some of them have lot's of sugars in them.

It sounds like the beginning of a yo-yo dieting cycle... how long will you be satisfied with eating only veggies, fruit, yogurts, etc.? Personnally, if I tried to do that I would be setting myself up for a rough landing in which I would binge on all of the things I had been depriving myself from. Don't set yourself up for failure!! It takes time to lose weight in a healthy manner - 1 to 2 pounds a week is the recommended maximum.

Moderation is key along with a healthy exercise program (4 days a week - 30 - 45 minutes per day) including a comination of both cardio & strength training.

If you can find someone to start this journey to healthier living with you, it will be much easier for both of you!! There is something to be said for having someone help hold you accountable for your actions!

Don't forget to reward yourself along the way!

A friend of mine just told me tonight that she has lost 30 pounds over the past 11 weeks (LA Weight Loss) and she commented that she picked up her husband's 20 pound dumbell & had a hard time carrying it around for just a few minutes. Just keep thinking about how good you are going to feel after you shed your unwanted pounds, whether it is 5 pounds or 150 pounds!

Good luck & stick with it - your perserverence will pay off in the long run! :)

When I had to drop weight I always dipped my raw veggies in fat free rasberry vinagrette dressing, if you can't stomach that try something else nonfat, it seems to me you would be cancelling out the whole eating veggie thing by eating fatty stuff with it.

Try eating only fruits and vegetables, more so the vegetables. Also, drink plenty of water, especially before meals.

the only problem I see with this is there is no protein in your diet. You need protein for muscle, you could eat chicken breast and fish. You could broil or bake them and they would be ok.
