I always thought it was 16 oz. = 1 lb. Am I right?

yes it would be 16 oz in weight, however, that is in mass. if you are speaking in volume it would be 16 fl. oz. the UNIT of measurement will change from mass to volume.

Yes. The rhyme to remember that was "a pint is a pound, the world around." With 16 ounces to a pint that makes 16 to a pound.

As far as I know you are right 16oz. is a lb. I've always gone by this.

1gal. is 8lbs.,1/2 gal is 4lbs.,1qt. is 2lbs,and a pint is 16ounces that equals 1lb. you are correct.
