I have been living here in the USA since I was 6,from canada,mother got me a social security card,but since I became married I can not change my name on my card ,because they say I am an illigal..I feel so lost ,my mother did not help me past all this.as she moved back to canada, I am applying for status ,but is that what will make it better for me? I can not even change my drivers id,until I figure out what to do????????????

Go talk to an immigration lawyer he will help you

Take this matter to Burial of Indian Affairs or to your local Indian Affairs office and let them handle it.

You shouldn't need to apply to anything you have dual citizenship I should know I am an Native American I am a Mohawk I live in New York state but i was born and raised in Canada.

Yes you should apply for status, this will give you citizenship in Canada & the U.S.

Talk to your band chief, I thought all band members held both candidian and US citizenship
